We've crossed both hill and ocean on this journey through our love
And climbed so many mountains as we’ve fought away our hunger
I’ve tried to be her rock as we we’ve walked forward hand in glove
As she nurtures my love and spirit, all the world’s danger I deter.
Each day, I give her all I’m able while I hold each door wide open
I carry her when she tires or struggles, I wait when she’s not ready
I let her set the pace and tide and decide what happens when
And if she cannot show I keep my will and hold course steady
I pray to God that I can be each and everything she needs
I push away my doubt and fear and forge a clear, sure path
I aspire only to prove my love and the passion that it feeds
And if I ever fail her I will stand fast to face God’s wrath.
