The Light at Last

He follows her off into the darkness of night

The shadows are black, the echoes a fright

She turns to him in fear and clings to his chest

He guides her through the valleys and up the high crest

The moon fades in the distance and the dawn light peaks through

As He leads her through the emotions of starting anew

And as they cross a shallow field they come to a river

Where he opens his heart to all he can give her

He kisses her softly to open a budding soft trust

And builds something deeper than friendship or lust

As he whispers softly, he touches her true

And holds her and shelters her in the soft morning dew
