A Shooting Star

Wandering out into the night

A silent star lit mission

To forget the losses of yesterday’s

The costs and cries of contrition

Through the dark and ‘neath the shadow

Of a crescent moon

He journeys alone with naught to guide him

Like the damned unto his tomb

The wing it calls like sirens voice

To pull his eye from the ground

An owl calls from a nearby tree

His folly it has found

He searched for her through all his days

But all he found was blight

He sought the counsel of the wise

Now he stumbles in the night

The sirens voice she calls again

But nowhere is She found

He walks with super footing

As he chases down the sound

With quickened pace he starts to race

The ground becomes uneven

Within the night, increasing fright

In the wake of the sirens call

His spirit enthralled, he trips and falls

Into the dirt and dust

He lifts his head to the stars ahead

And beholds a beautiful light

A Shooting star above so far

So brilliant in the night

It curves across the sky above

Until she’s out of sight

He’ll chase her for she brings him passion

Beyond all reason

Beyond all ration

He’ll chase this shooting star above

He’ll chase her and He’ll call it love
