Painted above the scattered clouds
These stars light up the cool night sky
I walk within the fields below
And gaze up at those lights so high
Her star shines bright not far from mine
I reach my outstretched hand in wonder
As time stretches on and begins to slow
A powerful force pulls our stars asunder
In grief I cry out for our loss
And question all I see above
But gravity pulls the shards away
And so only darkness remains of love
When in darkness creeps the shadow
I’ll remember what I once saw true
I’ll remember what we knew together
Before the shattered dreams flew through
