Eclipse

I’ve wandered in the shadows only searching for her heart

While once she let me in, now she hides and stands apart

And here I am just stumbling in the length of her great shadow

What night might bring I cannot say and only God shall know

I sought her favor and her love because I thought it right

Now I fear the moment is lost and hope is out of sight

And while she greeted my kind words with enthusiasm and passion

Now I find the darkness without mercy or compassion

She eclipsed the light from all my world and left me in the dark

I cannot find the glow of sun, no lantern can I spark

And while I writhe alone in grip of nothingness and cold

I try to move beyond the feelings that seemed so true and bold.
