M.H.

Her hair as dark as midnight

Her eyes clear placid pools

Her past so widely littered

With the hearts of all her fools.

She found me broken and shaking

She held me with her words

From across the vastest distance

My demons she did disturb

She chased them off with love

She held me with compassion

And with an angel’s smile

She defended in heroic fashion.

And so she breathes new life

Into the most  foolish soul

And if she’ll stay awhile

I’ll cling to her bright smile.
