She Walks the Night

She walks the night without pause, without fear

Her dark hair scattered, her eyes so clear

She haunts the shadows under the moon

She strikes so sweet, so sudden, so soon.

She terrifies souls with her beauty and pluck

She rises above the dirt and the muck

She sings with her silence, she sings with her soul

And never the night does it take on her toll.

And when the dark shadows, they fade into dawn

She climbs down from the precipice of danger on yon

She steps into light with the sureness of warriors

And stops not for the gawkers, doubters, or voyeurs
