Fragile Dreams

The skies are gray and so is my spirit

Lost in all the convictions that failed

And though my lady would not like to hear it

It’s possible all our ships may have sailed

I fought for her because I believed in her passion

I fought for her for the thrill of the dreams

I believed that we would never fall from fashion

But is this sweet girl what she seems?

And in this world even love can die

Dreams can crash into the finest dust

You’re left begging for all the reasons why

When there is nothing left of the tree of trust

So I call out into yon gray sky

As I chase the fragments of my true love

I reach for hope through the tears I cry

And beseech all the heavens above

I pray dear God, rekindle this flame

Deny my grief its bark and bite

Quench the strife my spirit cant tame

Keep my dream and love in sight.
