The Bloody Fourth

April, 1861: The Deep South has succeeded after the election of Abraham Lincoln and former President Buchanan's call for dialog has fallen on deaf ears. A young man, Joseph, is leaving his home in (West) Virginia, not knowing whether it will remain in the union, not knowing whether he will return. He is going to find his father, who has fallen into trouble amidst the tension in the Carolinas whilst peddling goods with Joe's older sister and young brother. They argued when last they spoke and harsh words were exchanged, but these are all the family he has and they have called upon him. As the Union crumbles around him, young Joseph's time to prove himself approaches faster and faster.
